Inherited these and want to find a colour to paint the kitchen cupboards and walls....

Please let me know what you've done or would do in this case?

Looks a bit like this minus the tiles currently ...

Ideally I'd rip the lot out but can't afford to and it's a good quality kitchen so thinking respray or door replacement

I actually hate black worktops, so I’d look at seeing what a new worktop being replaced first would cost.

If you don’t like the wood cabinets, then you can paint them to go with the new worktop. You are much more likely to love a combination you have chosen, than try to work with the black.

I had a black worktop in a house I moved into, never again. It showed every crumb and mark. I have a white one now and it's a beads to keep looking clean in comparison

I'd go white if I picked it 👍

I was coming on to day don't do it! Ours is lovely if just polished (cleaned, dried and buffed with a cloth) but shows everything and smears!

Anyway, we have a wooden floor and sage cupboards. Cream walls and dodgy tiles behind the cooker I want rid off, but can't justify right now.

I don't have enough swear words...

we see every tiny speck of dirt on ours plus it's very sensitive to lime scale remover.
can't be arsed afford to replace for now...

Shaker style cream colour cupboards.

NotMeNoNo · 11/04/2024 18:09

Just a stone colour would look nice, paler shade of the same for walls.
We have black worktops from previous owner but fortunately the speckled type, they hide everything!

Keep lower wood cabinets. Paint upper cabinets white and white walls.
