After build clean

Hi everyone.

How much is reasonable to pay for an after build clean? We actually haven't done building work but have just had our house fully painted, floors and doors sanded so it's super dusty. Just got my first quote and it was extortionate. £1,300 for 6 hours work although a team of ppl would come. Is this normal?! Thanks.

That's insane. Just pay for an end of tenancy style deep clean. Shouldn't be more than £200 for 6-8 hours.

That sounds like a huge amount of money but you would need to know how many people the team is to get any real idea/able to compare costs. Is there a cleaning franchise in the area offering one off cleans. Even if they charge £25 per hour it's likely to be half that if the 'team' is 4 people. I would probably avoid language of after build -it will make it sound worse I suspect.

Is the house fully furnished as a lived in family home? If so it would be nothing like an end of tenancy clean which would either be completely empty or furnished but all surfaces and cupboards/drawers empty so requires nothing like the cleaning of a lived in home.
