Very cheap conveyancing quotes online, selling only

We are listing house soon for sale, post-divorce.

Conveyancing I am getting quotes today, as sellers only.

This site offers quotes that are literally £1000 lower than I get elsewhere. the disbursements quote doesn't seem right, because of the money laundering checks they have to pay for.

That doubt parked, has anyone used such cheap services? Does cheap mean super super super super slow?

Thanks in advance!

From experience, yes they will be slow and may go AWOL at a critical moment. Much better to get recommendations and use someone local and trusted.

Don't do it. I've never known anyone have a good experience with online conveyancers, either instructing them or being on the receiving end of the other party instructing them. They're cheap for a reason.

Two of my children used them when buying and selling - one was fine, other very slow so I think it is pot luck on who you get; but be prepared to chase them a lot, plus delays with sending snd receiving documentation as you can't just drop it in to them when it's urgent. One also wasn't able to just call the contact, had to email and fix a time which is annoying when you are trying to get updates.

We used a super cheap online one, which turned out to be a fairly reputable local solicitors. Had no issues whatsoever with them.

For context, I paid £554 for the sale of a 2 bed, fully inclusive.

Our buyers used one

Cash buyer to no onward purchase and they didn't bother with a survey ( we moved in with family ) so couldn't be any simpler

7 months of no progress ; then 2 week of activity leading to exchange and completion on the same day

Aweful

We've used online conveyancing to sell a property. Would never do it again.
Slow, often very difficult to contact, no single point of contact and then when we were on the point of exchange they'd not completed part of the process giving us the most stressful day. Hopeless.

Used a recommended local firm to buy our next property. The ease of being able to walk in, ask questions, single point of contact and people who know the quirks of the local market was worth every penny extra. Smoothest deal ever and completed 8 weeks after making our offer.
