We are thinking of doing a very basic loft conversion and wondered if anyone can recommend any companies?- or more importantly anypone who you would NOT recommend!? We've seen a cheap one in local paper called cosyloft.com (who are also Acornfirst) wondered if anyone has used them?

do you mean a loft conversion or a storage room?

just a basic loft conversion, no plumbing or anything. We just want the structural stuff, strengthen joists , a window and stairs.

We haven't had this done ourselves, but I see lots of signs for Classic Lofts, Dulwich Lofts and AI lofts in our area of SE London. I'm assuming some of these are personal recommendations as I have seen about three Classic Loft signs in the same street.

we've got Charles Grosvenor coming to do ours and my friend used A1 and was happy with them.

They don't strengthen joists though - they have to replace them with steels which costs LOTS hence we are having a "storage room, not suitable for habital use" done - it's half the price but obviously does not count as a room if/when you sell.

Thank-you everyone-I'll look into them,or steer clear as the case may be (it's going to take a while so any more info will still be useful)
