Not sure this is the right thread but I couldn’t find anything on relocation & im not great on MN, but anyway here goes..
So my husband is from south Leicester & I am from North Kent (currently live in Meopham)
We have two boys 5 years old & 7 months old & my husband moved here when I was pregnant with our first.
The question is should we move to south Leicester? We’re currently house hunting & to stay where we are we’d need to continue having a big mortgage. Well we will need to move regardless when our fixed term comes to an end due to the ridiculous mortgage rates. This could mean moving to somewhere like Rainham which I’m not familiar with.
In Leicester we’d be looking at the Whetstone & Wigston areas.
Id basically like to hear from people who are familiar with both places. My husband & family are obviously bias for Leicester as I am for Kent so I’d like an outside opinion. Where in your opinion is best for a young family. We could be about mortgage free in Leicester, but of course if I’m miserable that means nothing!
Most important to me is that my boys grow up happy & safe with a good education.
