Process of buying & selling

Not done this for a long time so excuse my ignorance but, roughly what's the process and timeframe for selling and buying a house.

Up to now memorandums have gone to solicitors for my sale and purchase.

I'm also a cash buyer on sale of my house as I'm downsizing and paying off my mortgage (with an early redemption fee ☹️) I'm also going to be using about £13k savings to enable my purchase.

Between 12-16 weeks is about the average I think, but it will depend on a lot of factors- namely how big the chain is beyond what you're buying.

Only 3 of us in the chain.
