Hi all,
Was hoping for some advice. Currently a tenant in a ground floor rental. A tradesman came out to do a repair in the bathroom. He commented how the ceiling is buldging and when he touched it a small hole appeared. (I’ll attach a pic). There doesn’t seem to be any water above it but he said it’s most likely been caused from a previous leak from the upstairs flat and said he would inform the landlord it needs fixing (I did also via email).
This was almost a month ago and a contractor is meant to be in touch and coming to fix it but have heard nothing so far. Is it an acceptable time frame to start chasing this up? I worry about pestering the landlord as have had to contact her a lot recently regarding different repairs needing doing (she does seem very pleasant and tends to get them sorted quickly ).
However I’m concerned it’s going to cave in as it’s directly above the toilet.
Could anyone estimate how long such a repair usually takes/would the entire ceiling of then bathroom need redoing? Apologies in advance, I’m clueless when it comes to diy.
Thanks in advance :)
