I had the plumber measure and he said I've got 44 inches width to put one. Typically the standard I think is 45 inches width.

Does anyone know where I could get a slightly slimmer one?

Are you in the UK? If so, you need to start thinking in centimetres/mm. All the trades do for this kind of stuff, how have you ended up with inches?

Sanch1 · 12/01/2024 12:17

Maybe just get an actual slimline one, about 24 inches I believe and put a wine rack other slim kitchen unit in the rest?

Heather37231 · 12/01/2024 12:33

Hold on, you mean 45cm don’t you?

just go on AO.com and look at what they have under “slimline”, the dimensions are listed. They’ll be standard though.

So you have over a meter to play with, why do you need a slim one?

Sorry CM!

I'll check that place. I can only find 45cm width so far from google

44 cm vs 45cm is a very small difference. What will you have in either side of the appliance- other appliances, or cabinets or something else?
Your plumber should be aware of standard dimensions- was he saying that you definitely cannot fit a 45cm standard slimline so your only hope is to find a smaller one?

If not, you might be able to squeeze in a 45cm one.

Some on Ao.com are 44.8 but you won’t get a wide range as these things are manufactured in standard sizes.

We used to have a slimline dishwasher ( curry’s essential) , when it finally died we couldn’t find one that would fit in the same hole . It meant we had to move the tumble dryer and go back to a full size dishwasher and we got a slimline under counter freezer to go in the original space which has turned out to be very useful .

@Heather37231 Yes I phoned and they said the smallest was 44.8cm.

I have only one space that I can put it and the plumber didn't know sizes of slim lines. He measured and said 44cm width. He was saying something about our soil pipes taking up space, as they were built in internally.

I suggest you go back to him and tell him the available sizes and see what he says.

For the sake a few MM I'm sincerely hope he can suggest something!

This washing up malarkey is absolute time-consuming hell!
