Would you phone someone up that said they were interested in your house but it wasn't the right time and ask them if they would like to make an offer?

I am desperate to sell my property so that I can move on with my life, it has been on the market for a year and most people seem to like it however they can't seem to commit to the life style change it would mean.

We live in France so it would mean quite a big change to their current lives.

Do you think it would be a shocking thing to do?

I await your comments, albeit a little nervously!!!

captainmummy my dh works in London and loves its too!

It has been difficult at times but I wouldn't change it.

My dh works on flexi time, 1 week in London and 1 week here in France, it is doable.

Dh's job has changed in recent months, so now has to spend more time in London so thats why we want to sell up, to give us some time to think about where we want to be without a huge mortgage.

It may happen!!!

An update, the interested party telephoned me back on Good Friday to let me know that it wasn't the right time for them to move to France, but they really loved the property. So if we are still up for sale in 2 years they might be back, merde I really can't wait that long.

Although the best news I have heard recently is that the French property market is fairly stable, as thy make quite hard in the first place to get a mortgage. I am hoping and wishing that the UK market doesn't fall any further for all our sakes.

Bubbleandsqueak, do you have a house in London?

I have one I dont need (looking to rent it out). 3 bed end of terrace, huge garden, conservatory. Easy reach of central London.

Can you rent your french house out as holiday let?

Hi Quintessential, no we don't have a house in London and I am not sure if I would want to return to London.

We currently run our property out here as a gite. Its more about having more family time together as my DH commutes to London every other week and I spend quite a lot of time without DH.

We shall see, I have someone else who is interested but I am not holding my breath, as I know that the UK market is so bad and the eur exchange rate being so strong is not helping my cause.

But hey you never know
