If you have a J shaped bath?

Would you mind telling me how your bath panel is fixed on?

mine did not come with clips or anything and the bathroom fitter evidently thought the panel would just stay in place by the power of some magical as yet unknown force. Obviously it doesn’t and it comes away all the time and it’s driving me mad.

Do you mean a bath that is wider one end than the other?

There is usually a fixing kit available, otherwise you'll need to make a frame.

Are you able to post some photographs please?

We have exactly the same problem! It just sort of collapses away a bit at the wider end

What is a J shaped bath? I have a P Shaped one but a J?

edited to add, ahhhhh googled it now.

Geneticsbunny · 17/11/2023 07:57

can you use bathroom sealant to hold it in place?

OneSugar1 · 18/11/2023 10:06

Sorry for my delay!

a j shaped bath is rounded on one corner like this photo.

It keeps popping out at both ends (I’ll send a photo when I get home). Plumber has tried a bit of sealant at both ends but it doesn’t hold for more than a day

"Jane bury me in a y shaped coffin Fairfax"

Sorry. I'll get my coat.

Following this topic as I'll be having a J-shaped bath in my new bathroom.

OP, where did yours come from?

Has anyone bought one and not had this problem, if so where from? I've only managed to find fairly cheap ones online so far.

As a fix, I'm wondering if it might be possible to attach two strips of metal of some kind to the wall (at the edges where the panel meets the wall) to keep it in place?

Ineedanewsofa · 18/11/2023 15:35

My parents had a curved bath and had this problem, my dad bought some strong magnets to keep the panel on. Had the bonus of being able to take it off if needed without unscrewing anything

OP, I'm wondering if the clips were missing from the delivery. I've just googled and you can buy sets of clips quite cheaply (although probably worth checking with the supplier first).

That's why I was after a photo 😉 Kind of hoping there is an obvious solution.

Here’s a couple of photos of it popping out at either end. You can see where the fitter has tried to use silicone to prevent it.

I will try to take the panel off a bit more later but am a bit worried I’ll make the situation worse 😬

It never cane with clips and the fitter was adamant that these type don’t but I will try giving tgd manufacturer a call - I’ll have to dig out who it was first though.

magnets sound promising - to the pp who posted that - would you be able to get a link to them from your dad and a brief description of how and where he attached them? 🙏

I imagine thus might be an issue with D shaped baths too
