Pink tiles - what colour taps? (bathroom)

We're having pink tiles in our bathroom (with a retro turquoise sink/ toilet). Can't decide what colour taps and shower - chrome? Black? Brass?? Really dithering...

Not chrome.

Brass would be very on trend...

Brass

BinkyBeaufort · 20/10/2023 13:32

It obviously depends on the shade of pink, but would copper work?

Stephisaur · 20/10/2023 13:53

Brass/Gold would be my first choice, followed by black.

Chrome would be a no go for me

Flockameanie · 20/10/2023 13:56

Ok, yes - brass was what I was leaning towards. But was worried it would look too 'Victorian' (not a Victorian house!).

Thanks for confirming my 'no chrome' instinct too!

I'd go brass and make everything brass, toilet push, shower, shower cubicle to really set everything off.

We've done this recently and it really makes a difference

Meant to add as well towel rail, loo roll holder, etc just go for it!

I’d go brass too.

black taps I’d avoid as they’re really tricky to clean if you’re in a limescaley area, you can’t use many of the usual cleaners on them as the black flakes off which is a pain!

Brushed brass will look the most modern. Chrome will actually make it look more retro if you're doing that style - obviously the actual design and shape of the fittings will also dictate this. As a note, brass will age quickly so you need to be happy with an aged patina

LeefsPrings · 20/10/2023 14:08

Chrome. Anything else will be a pain to clean, and will go out of fashion.

Thanks all - think I’m going for brass. I don’t mind it ‘dating’. We’ve been living with a 1960s bathroom for over 3 years!
