Potentially silly question about media walls

Hi everyone - I’m redoing my living room and want to get one of the media walls with a TV and fire underneath. This feels like such a silly question but do the fires give off heat ?! And if they do, do they actually heat the room ?

It depends what sort of fire you put in but yes it should give out heat. If it's electric it will be an expensive way to heat the room though.

Yes and sort of!
Our media wall built a year ago has an electric fire (by Solution Fires) and it does give off heat. However, it’s recommended not to be the primary heat source. Our room also has a radiator and underfloor heating so we haven’t needed the fire on for heat so far, only for the various colours of the lights.

Okay thank you! We do have a radiator but the room always feels cold -maybe the built in fire won’t work for the room 😭will keep looking into it

Could you get a bigger radiator?
