we signed contracts last monday and looked like it was all systems go....until yesterday we were asked by the buyers if we would pay £2600.00 towards rewiring the house!!!

Despite the fact the price has been dropped by more than £20,000!!!!

So had a horrible day and night worried sick cos we just don't have the money to do that and then we will lose the sale.

DH has just rung and and said buyer has decided to go ahead as price has been dropped and both solicitors have been instructed now to exchange asap.....

would you all please keep fingers crossed for me xxxxxbig hugs and kissesxxxxx

hey - you could be me...we signed a week ago and then the buyers asked for 3.5k for damp work despite a 25k price drop! We're trying to buy a total wreck so we need every penny - and more - to fix it up. But in the end we had to say ok because i genuinely think they'll pull out if we don't. and while there are lots of houses like ours on the market, there are very few (none) like the one we want. after a week of worry things are more positive today and we're supposed to be exchanging on friday.

but what am i doing up at 1.45 when i have work tomorrow i just don't know....

I find this thread strangely reassuring - am gripped with fear that our buyer will pull out after a survey (not that's there anything too awful - I think - but it's a victorian house so who knows) but if you can pay your way out of it ok - we could afford to do that a bit. Please tell me that after they've gone to the bother of a survey they will be interested in a price drop not walking away.

sashmum - sorry for obsessing on your thread - fingers crossed!
