How much would wren kitchens come down in price?

We've gone to Wren and had plans done for our new kitchen and got it priced up - units/appliances/worktops with all offers come in at £16k. Gone to DIY Kitchens and it's coming in at £11k! I would like to use Wren if I can so I can take advantage of the 0% offer - how much can I realistically haggle off of the total?

Ask them to price match DIY. They might go for it. Worth a try.

We had this same issue 2 yrs ago. wren £21k, ikea £7k. Ikea also do 0% so we went with them. The kitchen is superb.

Wren told my daughter last year that they no longer do discounts 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bumbles78 · 08/08/2023 23:18

Wren no longer do discounts. They can offer to change ranges or appliances to adjust the price. But that’s it.

Friend's DH makes his money fixing badly made and fitted Wren kitchens. They are terrible.

HulahoopsBBQbeef · 08/08/2023 23:20

benchmarx also offer 0% finance and I found their prices very competitive and not too different to DIY kitchens. Also there’s a Facebook group about wren kitchen problems which makes for interesting reading.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions everyone ☺️ I hadn't heard anything bad about Wren previously. I'd seen an in depth review of several kitchens from a builder (someone posted it on Mumsnet) and wren came out second to DIY, but their main faults were price and a couple of minor things like hinge holes. Maybe I should give DIY kitchens a proper go - a post RE them a couple of weeks ago had glowing reviews. It would just mean I have to wait a year 🤷‍♀️

We have a DIY kitchen and it is fab but we have just added an island and we went to Benchmarx and it came out cheaper than when I did it on DIY. I would say the quality is pretty much the same but Benchmarx only do white or grey internal cabinets.

Mrsladybirdface · 09/08/2023 07:41

Though my original DIY units are painted and the Benchmarx is vinyl wrapped so that might make up the majority of the price difference

We added some units to our kitchen, and stuck with Wren to tie in with the original kitchen. They managed to be a zesty combination of both useless and rude. We used one of their local approved fitters who was a star - he did say most of his work came from fixing/re-fitting stuff Wren had installed themselves.

This kitchen will see us out, but if I was looking at a new kitchen there's no way I'd consider them.

VinEtFromage · 09/08/2023 07:59

They could be giving them away & I wouldn't use Wren. Just Google to see why.

why would you have to wait a year for a kitchen from DIY?? 4th Sept is the delivery date on the site.(for all the ones I just looked at).

the showroom in South Kirby, Yorkshire is fabulous. Well worth a reasonable drive (3hours away from me). I'd travel further if I needed to. The 3D tour online is also pretty good. The staff will help you make sure you've got all the bits you need & the units come ready made, so fitting is cheaper & I've only ever heard fitters praise them.

Wren don’t employ their own fitters as such they just have a list of local approved fitters ( or people can use their own fitter if they have one).

So the fitter you get can be good or not so good. Luckily my daughter’s fitter from their list was excellent so she’s very happy with her Wren kitchen one year on.

crustybreaddarling · 11/08/2023 07:22

@Twiglets1

That's interesting. We had the work done earlier this year and they quoted 2 installation prices - one higher with their own fitters and a lower one with some suggestions of their approved fitters. Perhaps it varies from area to area? We're in Hants.

Brendabigbaps · 11/08/2023 07:26

Don’t use wren, we bought from a pre built range and had our own fitter install.
Customer service was shocking both after signing contact AND after delivery.
Plus it chips really easily

Search the Facebook group for Wren Kitchen disasters (or something along those lines), it will put you off
