Has anyone got a slam shut front door, I'm having problems with mine.

Recently had a slam shut front door fitted and we struggle sometimes opening it. Spoke to the installers who said if you don't slam it shut it won't open properly. Even though we do every so often we can't open it. Has anyone else had the same problem.

My daughter had endless problems with her slam shut front door and after more than four call outs, she had it replaced with a normal door

It wasn't great, no. It had been badly fitted though and that caused numerous issues with the door not closing/opening.

It's the lock that's the problem it work fine for 5 or six times, then the lock won't turn.

may need new door.
can some kind soul please tell me what a slam shut front door is
(all that springs to mind is the yale-type lock that slams shut with you outside as you realise the keys are in the hall)

Yes very similar, but has a higher security key.
