Do you have a summer house? Do you use it?

We're thinking of getting one. We have the space and think it would be a nice extra room.

I'm worried that we'll stop using it after a while though.

Does insulation help much or are only used in the good weather?

We have one. It's an expensive shed for us, never sit in it.

Yes, we do and we use it. We have just repainted inside. It must be 25 years old.

I inherited one at a previous house. I loved it.

It wasn't very big or fancy, the best thing was the position, it faced south west so got afternoon and evening sun. Was a lovely place to sit, particularly in Spring and Autumn. I suppose, a bit like a conservatory.

Thank you 😀

I think we'll do it and hope we use it x

My parents have one and they use it a lot. It makes a big difference in being able to sit out and use the garden when it's not proper summer weather, as it keeps any wind off you and keeps your furniture clean and dry.

They have a dining table in there and we often sit and eat or all have a few drinks together there. There's also a TV for watching football or putting the radio on.

Also great for when you're BBQing of course.

I would definitely have one if I could

I have a 12ft x 10ft summerhouse with a log burner in, but don't use it much. I also have an 8ft x 6ft shed that I took the front off so it's basically 3 sides. It has 2 comfy chairs a table and a few decorative bits and I sit in there constantly over the summer, it's warm and keeps the wind off you.

My husband built one in our previous house. It was well insulated and had lighting and electrical sockets in it. It had a single bed sized built in seating with loads of storage under it, which was a Godsend as not a lot of storage in the house. It was very well used by all of us. My DD even had a friend sleep in it a few times if he was working late and couldn't get home.

Thanks everyone. We've ordered one!

I'm currently looking at how to furnish and decorate it. I think we'll insulate it.
