Hello,

On my own and separated so this hasn’t really been my area but I need to get the gutters on the house cleaned out as I think there must be a blockage somewhere. I’m currently listening to a drip drip drip!!

Any ideas how much this costs?

We pay £80 to have the front and back gutter cleaned and this also includes cleaning all the soffits and downpipes. We do it every couple of years it makes a big difference.

Hello,
Can you provide the contact number for the person who cleans your gutter please.
Thank you

I paid £80 recently.
It’s surprising how much muck builds up esp if there are nearby trees. The operative took before & after photos. Lots of debris in the bucket! He also washed the soffits. Made the house look so much better. Not that it was mucky, but just more cared for IYSWIM.

Gutters also get brittle (plastic ones) so joints fail. They leak, they cause splatter at ground level and up the house wall. Best to look after gutters or risk lots of expense in the long run.

I have just been quoted £860 to clean gutters, re-felt a small porch roof and replace 3 tiles. Sounds like I am being ripped off, but I do have a 3 story end-terrace. Chap said re-felt will be £250 so that's £810 for the rest.

Any thoughts please?

Gutter cleaning usually costs between $100–$250 depending on the size of your home—might be worth getting a few quotes from local pros.

Three storey Victorian semi in Berkshire was £80, front, back and side. That was earlier this year.

We pay about £80 I think, it’s every year or so but ours were ancient and we just had them all replaced so won’t bother this year. We live near a ton of trees and have loads of birds so we get it done out of nesting season just to make sure we don’t disturb anyone lol

it stops endless leaf and moss build up which blocks the gutters and can cause water ingress into your house

Do they need to put up scaffolding though? We had some small roof repairs done at old house and the small scaffold tower alone was £500 so would make your quote about right to my mind! Or if they’re hiring special ladders to get up for roof tiles

To those wondering what it’s for; it causes damp in our country if you have a blockage as the water just seeps into the roof/brickwork/etc instead. We have a family of blackbirds who have set up home in the past week or two. Drain is full of twigs, stones and all sorts. 😅 So we’ll need to wait until they’ve left before getting someone out.

Came on to say this. I've never had my gutters done. Now scared I've broke my house Confused

I think it really depends where you live. I never had to clear the gutters when I no lived in town but surrounded by trees now.
