I have been successful on my council bid. The floor is completely bare. Does anyone have advice on what I can do to keep the price down for my Kitchen, stairs, bathroom, hallway, bedroom, living room floor.

would be helpful if anyone has advice on prices shops and types of flooring I can put down on a budget.

thankyou 😁

Sheet vinyl is usually the cheapest option, though not the most attractive or hardwearing. I’d spend a little more money on carpet or laminate and focus on the most important rooms like bedrooms and living room first: you can live with an ugly hallway and bathroom for a bit whilst you save up to floor them. Often local independent flooring shops are much better value than the big chains: they sometimes have end of rolls and offcuts they’ll sell cheaply and are more grateful for your business so may throw in discount fitting. See if you have any in your area.

Find a local marquee/event company. You can often get that really cheap really thin carpet used once for an exhibition for free (as they just bin it). You can then add a few rugs where needed and save and buy something more suitable later.
