Chelmsford Mums?

Hi,

We are moving to Chelmsford at the end of March (been a bit of a whirlwind after selling our house just 24 hours after being on the market). Living down the road in South Woodham I know what it's like for shops and restaurants. Don't know how life is as a family there to live.
Is Melbourne the only bad bit or is anything north best avoiding too?
Any hints or tips?
Also anyone know where to find private rental listings for the area?

I grew up in Chelmsford and only left to go to Uni. My parents are still there.

They live in Moulsham Lodge area and I went to all the Moulsham schools which were very good. At the time there was lots to do after school (going back about 15 years though!!)

I really enjoyed growing up around there.
