Hello All,

We plan to buy house in Amersham but very new to this area so need guidance for best area to live considering proximity to good primary, upper and grammar schools ( Dr challoner high and Chesham ) as well as safe and quiet neighbourhood with good family places like parks etc for kids.

Also wanted to stay close to station that can take me to London and possibly near M40 and M25.

My wife doesnt drive so wanted to stay close to schools that are walkable.

We are looking for 3 bed and budget around 650-700k. Prefer either modern or refurbished houses.

Please let us know your recommendations?

What do you mean upper schools? Are those non-selective schools ie Amersham School?
All of Amersham is fine but yes you pay more for the station.

Yes I meant Amersham school. We visited Little Chalfont this weekend and found it better placed for Dr challoners girl school and lovely parks and walks around. Felt a good community and family living.
However not able to find many properties under £700 as our budget. Any thoughts from anybody?

Yes prices are quite high there because of the schools. Most families can afford private and few state schools uphold discipline and motivate pupils to do well so the few that do are pursued by so many.
How about Great Missenden? Aylesbury and High Wycombe are not exciting areas but the schools are very well regarded.
