Hi there,

Has anyone experienced condensation and mould trapped inside a double glazed window?
Demonstrated in the pictures attached.
What can be done?

How old is your double glazing?
It doesn't last forever- it may need replacing. You can just get the glass replaced instead of the whole window.

Yes, you have to replace the double glazed unit.

Basically get new glass put in.

Thank you so much for your response. We're currently renting, and I'm not sure how long the previous glass lasted.
Out of curiosity, do you happen to know the typical cost of glass replacement? If you've had to replace glass before, I would appreciate any insight you may have.

I paid 140 for supply and fit of a new double glazed unit, about 18 months ago. It's leaded though, so will be more expensive than plain glass.

@CellophaneFlower , that's great news! I thought it would be a few hundred. Thanks for sharing!

This is the landlords job!

Flubadubba · 22/05/2023 14:59

The window has blown. Your landlord should replace it.

If you’re renting just report it to the landlord or managing agent.
