When is the best time of day to make the inital phone call to a builder to arrange a quote ?

OK maybe a bit of a daft question but I have short listed 4 builders to give us quotes , all are local .

Now is the best time to get hold of them during the day MON - Friday , or evening or weekend ?

Just wondering when to make the call and what should I say or should I get DH to make the calls ( which would mean they never get done ! )

We have full planning and building regs , aswell as structual drawings and a spec to give them .

Well, they usually knock off for golf about 2.30pm. Try then.

Certainly not after 7.30pm in the evening, I remember a friend of my dh saying that if the phone rings about work in the evening out of reasonable hours he sticks another 20% on the bill

Do you have their mobile numbers? If so, then ring during the day. Otherwise, ring late afternoon and leave a message that includes the times (after hours) that you are available to talk.

MIL reckons Sunday evening is the best time, and based on what golds has said, definitely before 7.30.

I would say during the day .

And will def not ring in evening !
