This house is perplexing

Creepy! I always wonder if they have blinds, or do they just let people look in at them when it's dark outside..

Thefriendlyone · 20/03/2023 11:00

I quite like it to be honest. Lovely setting and they’ve made rh3 windows like picture frames to the garden, it is a bit cold and sterile for me inside but that can be fixed

If you look at the images of outside the glass is like a mirror so they clearly are able to privacy panel it when they choose.

I am wonderign how it is keep clean - think of the amount of windowlene you would need to buy 😣

My first thought was about how many birds would end up flying slap bang into all that reflective glass!

I reckon if you can afford 2 million in a house you can afford a window cleaner inside and out 😄

Ginmonkeyagain · 20/03/2023 11:27

True! But even then - the amount of cleaning! Or is it just me that has a pigeon shit on the windows as soon as I have cleaned them?

It's like something out of Black Mirror. That episode where a lady lives in a survival pod and won't leave.

Geneticsbunny · 20/03/2023 12:46

I love it. No easy loo access from living room though as the only non ensuite one is in the utility

FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 20/03/2023 12:48

Hate it. I would be annoyed that I had to walk around all the corridors through the kitchen and living room to get to my room. It's definitely not a house made for someone with children although I'm sure the kids would think it's fun.

I would feel really exposed at night too, like I lived in an fishbowl. Even though the grounds are very private, I've seen too many thrillers with the bad guy looking into windows. shudder

PleaseJustText · 20/03/2023 12:51

I love it but would be too scared to sleep it in. I'd also worry about birds flying into it.

Knullrufs · 20/03/2023 13:01

I'm getting The Man With the Golden Gun vibes.

BrieAndChilli · 20/03/2023 13:05

must be a fortune to heat with all that glass - the corridors are all glass and so must be freezing!!
not my vibe at all, each room is so disconnected from the others - if guests over you cant even shout from the kitchen to the lounge etc.

Ginmonkeyagain · 20/03/2023 13:43

Also where do you put all your stuff?

OP posts:
Ginmonkeyagain · 20/03/2023 13:44

And fingerprints! I have a bad enough time with the cursed gloss units in our kitchen.

OP posts:
Countquack · 20/03/2023 15:06

Where do you wee? There doesn’t seem to be a designated toilet for the lounge or kitchen.

For that money I’d want a utility pod too.

Countquack · 20/03/2023 15:08

Sorry, just seen it, the utility was out of my field of vision!

mumarooni · 20/03/2023 15:28

I love all the views of trees, but the inside is so ... clinical. And I'd hate to be so far away from the kiddies at night. Also thought that about birds flying into the windows! Would be a very fun house to visit for a dinner party, but not to live in. Wonder if whoever buys it will buy it as a second home - fun to visit, but not to settle in.

Ginmonkeyagain · 20/03/2023 17:59

It's a house from a preposterous Netflix drama.

It will be owned by middle class professionals who, in real life would never be able to afford it - eg a teacher and a conveyancing solicitor.

She will stand in the kitchen a lot, staring soulfully out of the window, holding a massive glass of wine. He will sit in that sudy, staring resentfuly at his laptop.

One of them will has ill advised but passionate sex with a neighbour in the weird floating bed,

One of them will be found murdered in the hallway, blood spattered all up the mirrored walls.
