i have a couple of questions.

i have put offer in on house ...like 5 mins ago.

my dead mothers house has had an offer on - and the person who offered will get told todaythat i have accepted.

the auction company take 28days..

how long does normal estate agent run thing take?

will it be a bit longer?

vendors are suited and desperate to move out asap

i would like it to be a little longer as i have to give a months notice on where we rent.

Hone and contents probably less that that but depends on how high risk your postcode is. DON'T take out Critical Illness cover - it's too limited as to which illnesses it covers. Do Permananet Health Insurance instead if you need.

Tortington · 12/02/2008 12:48

is ther a website that tells me how high risk the poscode is?

i think its loverly area - but then i would!

Custy - are you sure that you'll get the money in your bank account within 28 days? My mother's house sold in November and teh estate still hasn't been closed/finalised whatever despite all being straightforward. I'd just make sure that that bit is clarified with your solicitor.

LIZS · 12/02/2008 19:36

fantastic

custy, i think you must now know the key success factor in buying a house - keep alcohol in the house at all times, plan nothing and expect everything.

As jj says, the people lending you the dosh want to know that if you both drop dead (of shock presumably from the house sale actually going through) OR if the house burns down to the ground, then they will get their money back. You can get the insurance from anyone anywhere.

The other thing you need to be thinking about is removals. Start getting some quotes. Personally I would rather rent a flamethrower and torch all my possessions than try to move them myself again . removals people get booked up in advance and it's as well to know how much £ you are letting yourself in for.

Tortington · 13/02/2008 12:41

think i will hire a white van.

i live with 3 strapping men - they need to earn their keep

We did it ourselves. Hard work but with 3 big blokes it'll be a doddle for you. And only £80.
