Really nervous about new neighbours being so close. In the past standoffs about kids parties , noise through the walls ,avoiding in the street, bonfire arguments.Loved my detached, now back to semi.Anyone got long term good relationships with semi neighbours. How do you introduce when you first move in.

Give and take really. Let them know if you're having work done. Thank them with a gift. Be considerate. Don't take issue with normal noise levels. It's noisier than our old house. We had a baby the other side of our bedroom wall in the new one. But babies grow up and the noise dies down. If you do need to mention something, do it in a non confrontational way. Make the effort to chat and build up a good relationship. I don't find it a problem really.

Thankyou this does help alot.We are both really private people but we have a large noisy dog that barks when we get back ,deliveries etc. This makes me really nervous about when we're at work. They are extending which we have no problem with.I suppose the past when we were younger with neighbours in a semi and the kids mixing together on the street created problems when they fell out.No kids now but can't get over it.
