No electricity meter - OVO energy

OVO energy failed to install my electricity meter today so now I have no electricity and my house is freezing. Does anyone know the law on this? Do they have to connect me within a certain time frame. I am upgrading my supply and UKPN disconnected my old meter today as planned. OVO just didn't turn up despite many calls to check the appointment was booked. I am really worried about the freezing temperatures.

Check the terms and condition of your contract with Ovo.

there is this on ofgem which may apply in your situation. But you could contact them and ask regarding your specific situation, as to what rules apply.

Thank you. I will check my contract.

Apparently I'm responsible for having the right meter. Crazy!

Argh! That’s wrong on so many levels! Kind of assumes we are all qualified electricians - so not helpful.

Can you contact ofgem and see if they can help?

I’m so sorry. It took Ovo over 6 months to instal my meter. (A temporary building meter thankfully so I’m not on site). I had 2 failed appointments and each time the next appointment was 6/8 weeks ahead so I really hope you have better luck. They are often a nightmare to get hold of too. I hope your experience will be better than mine.
