Amtico Flooring anybody?

Decided we're probably going to go with some sort of engineered flooring like Amtico / Larndean for our kitchen, after breaking my back trying to keep natural tiles elsewhere in the house clean (never again!). Anyone had any experience with this type of flooring? Is it really as hard wearing as the manafacturers claim? Also, style-wise, what kind of flooring do you think would work with a contemporary white kitchen with solid oak worktops? Ooh questions, questions...

We have Marmoleum in our kitchen. We put it down 10 years ago and it still looks good. I think it's cheaper than Amtico too.

Ooh thanks for the quick reply! How is laid - in tiles? And what colour do you have? Excuse ignorance. I'm crap at all this design malarkey.

Yes, it's laid in tiles. The plain ones are obviously cheaper, but if you have a border or a feature pattern that costs more. The shop we bought it from helped us with the design. It's really hardwearing and quite warm.

Sounds perfect. Thanks!

We have three colours in all - mostly a plain colour, but with a pattern in the centre of the room and a three-colour border. You can have anything you like.
