How long for searches enquiries reply to come back

Lovecats27 · 06/02/2023 09:35

Enquiries on the searches for the property I am buying have been raised about a month ago with the sellers solicitors. Still no reply. I signed the contract and TR1 papers, so annoying still waiting on those replies to move forward.
Does anyone have any idea how much longer is this likely to take?
I keep asking my solicitor to chase the sellers solicitors but he said they are not replying. So frustrating.
Any advice please.

You can have a look at local authorities current wait time for searches

Phone the estate agent and get them to chase. They'll want the sale to go through as much as you do and they'll be able to find out whether it's the seller or seller's solicitor who is being slow.

Yes, this. Many estate agents employ people specifically to keep an eye on how a sale is progressing and they should chase this with the seller's solicitor for you.

Get the estate agent to chase the party with who the enquiries are.

The local authority will make it clear how long searches are taking. Still about 8 weeks round here but they do give your solicitor an expected date to receive them. Also agree about asking for your Estate Agent's sales progression person to get involved. Nowadays, they can be the most useful person in the whole process!
