Which white for walls? Losing the will...

We have a kitchen/dinning room/lounge area to paint. It can have loads of light but also can be less light at certain times of day. I love the scandi look and we have a light grey kitchen with wooden floors.

Does Dulux White Cotton look like white with a hint of grey or just white? Dulux White Mist looks quite grey on the wall with the patch I did. Love F & B Wevet and it looks great when the sun shines but quite dark when the sun goes in.

Anyone have any of these?

White cotton is slightly warm so think it may have a tiny bit of yellow rather than grey, but it's almost white. Rock salt is similar but with a tiny hint of grey, but again, practically white.

I tried all of these for my north facing kitchen. Ended up with Dulux timeless which is lovely whatever the sun is doing. Wish I'd tried it first.

We have white cotton and it's a lovely just off white. White with a hint of warmth but no real colour to it.

Hard to explain.

However we've had several people comment on it, asking what it was as it was 'the perfect shade of white' so perhaps that explains it better Grin

We have White Cotton and it works well both in light-filled rooms and the darker rooms. It's definitely not grey and has a hint of yellow so it's very slightly warm. It comes out pretty true white for us though. I really like it in our kitchen and living room but think we probably could have gone warmer in the bedrooms but they face a different way (and don't currently have curtains). I was worried it would like a bit clinical but it's not at all especially with pictures and is nice and fresh instead.

We used the deluxe heritage range which has come out beautifully the colour does change with the light. I looked at the colour the different whites had come from and went for one with a bit of yellow for warmth. Very pleased

I have white cotton above dado rail in my hall & landing looks just a slightly less stark white than bog standard white can’t really detect a hint of grey or slight yellow tone but I think it really depends on amount of light you have coming in.

All very helpful, thank you. Sounds like I can't go wrong whatever I choose!

@Mmmmmmattersons
I have Wevet and it never looks dark! It’s a colour that reflects light pretty well. Goes with nearly everything.

I'm going to end up with six patches on each of my walls!😃

@Mmmmmmattersons
Best thing to do. Wevet is a very light grey. I have it with white woodwork and it’s a clean looking finish.

@Mmmmmmattersons This is Wevet in my holiday house.
