Any issues to expect with Velux windows in kitchen?

Hi all, bought a property recently which has 3 velux windows in the kitchen ceiling. This is the newly extended part of the property that the previous owners had had built and sold the house before the project could be finished. It needs a new kitchen designed and fitted.Just thinking about whether placement of the cooker is relevant to the position of the velux windows - Does it matter if the cooker is fitted near one of the the velux windows in terms of risk of condensation etc . Or is this all irrelevant and am I overthinking non existent issues😅? Please share your experiences if you’ve had any issues with this or have any suggestions- all shall be gratefully received!

I'll tell you about my mum's experience with them.

She has a flat-roofed galley type kitchen at the back of her house which was built as part of an extension. There are 2 ceiling skylights fitted with Velux windows and one of them is in front of the cooker - not directly above the hob, but roughly above where you stand if you're cooking on it. IYSWIM.

She's never had any issues with condensation there. I think that's because the cooker hood gets rid of most of the problem.

If you had a Velux directly above the hob itself, or you had no (or inadequate) cooker hood, then I can see that causing a problem.

We have 2 velux windows in our pitch roof kitchen extension. No issues with condensation and they are brilliant for cooling kitchen down and getting rid of smoke (ahem)

Thanks so much both! It sounds like I'm imagining an issue . @MaybeSmaller the position of one of the velux could be above where one would stand in front of the cooker , just like your mum's . Thanks for sharing .

Ours is the same. No issues. The only condensation I've ever seen on the Veluxes is one the outside, on cold mornings, because they're so well insulated!

The only issue we've ever had is glancing up to see a pigeons bum. 😳

Thanks @CasperGutman . You all are saying the same thing, so I'm feeling reassured now 😊
