On the day we were supposed to exchange last week our buyer suddenly said he could no longer afford the property at the price he offered (asking price) and to proceed with the purchase he would need £30k off.
After an extremely stressful few days we have agreed to £20 reduction to get this through. We are in the middle of a chain of 3. We are desperate to move.
His solicitor was instructed to apply for the revised mortgage offer the same day of the reduction agreement and we are waiting for this back in the next couple of days.
My biggest concern is if this cunt tries to do it again this week? Has anyone experienced a double gazunderer on their property?
He would have just had his mortgage offer mid September before mini budget so presumably on a better rate than he would get now on another property. He would also have all associated solicitors fees to date, searches etc.
I don't think I'll sleep much for the next few days😫
