Extension - how much per Square metre. North West area

As per the title really.

Getting some ridiculous quotes for a single storey extension. Just wondered what you would expect to pay per sq metre, it's about 28 sm in total for the extension.

Any decent builders who aren't ripping people off please let me know.

@ManicMonday007 we are in the North West and recently completed a build/renovation and paid £3k a sq metre.

£3k is pretty par for the course at the moment.

Quote for just over 3k sqm in Birmingham although complex build with internal alterations.

We're in the North-West (Stockport) and recently had 3 quotes for a 6m x 3m single storey rear extension. This includes knocking down an existing small rear utility but also re-using a 3 panel bi-fold door. Quotes came in at £47k (£2.6k sqm), £54k (£3k sqm), £74k (£4.1k sqm). That's excluding a kitchen and final flooring etc.
