House sale looking precarious

I had the phone call all sellers dread - estate agent said today that our buyers sale looks like its fallen through so it's unlikely we can exchange as expected. We were due to move into a new build in 4 weeks that we've paid extra money for different bits and pieces. Not sure what's going to happen now. It's so hard not having any control over the outcome and potentially wasted so much money.

Did the EA advise you put it back on the market or are you waiting for an update?Sounds stressful!

Waiting for an update but sounds like when and not if the chain collapses. EA has advised that our buyer's house is more likely to sell than ours, and our buyers are very keen on our house. Their house is back on the market but EA doesn't think we need to yet.

Will you have a word with your newbuild sellers then? They are usually delayed anyway so that would be a good thing in this case.

Good news that your sellers really want your house but complete ballache if you have to start again. Deep breaths and positive thoughts ✨️

Yes, I've given the new build sellers the heads up. I feel that we've got a good relationship and they'll help me as much as they can. Yes, just have to ride it out. Thank you x
