in a chain with 3 houses. we have been technically ready for last 4 weeks as told by solicitor - we started this process in July we are just waiting for top of chain.

there were apparently pages of enquiries before which have all been answered (waiting to find out if satisfactory or not) but now there remains a few enquiries still - we have been chasing estate agent and they are not getting much update from the solicitors, we stated our date for wanting to move in (October) as we don't want to faff with moving with new baby but I don't know how much effect this has really

I know its enquiries take as long as they take but our mortgage is due to expire end of this year, we love the house don't want to pull out and starting over & finding something chain free I don't think will get us anywhere quicker .. is it just a waiting game now and if they are not done by the time of our mortgage expiring that's it game over?? our lender wont extend and with all the rates that have shot up, good luck us being able to afford this again :(

I know chains can take a while but I am just a little anxious re time that's left and potentially how long this could drag on for, anyone thats got any advice or just maybe just positive stories welcome :)

Who has the enquiries? Do you not know what they are?

our buyers solicitor had a number of enquiries regarding our property, we were provided with a copy of these to respond to

Enquiries outstanding on your purchase?

Or for your vendor's onward purchase?

Apologies! Hadn't refreshed and missed your update.

Your vendor is buying land from the person at the top of the chain? Sorry, it's not terribly clear who is waiting for the enquiries to be answered.

I'd make it clear to your solicitor and to your estate agent to pass onto the other solicitors that you will have to pull out should this go on beyond xx date.
