Paint colour for a dark narrow hallway.

I’m looking to paint my hallway next weekend. It doesn’t get much light other than the front door. I’m thinking a shade of white but not sure. Has anyone any ideas or tips?
I don’t have young children or dogs. So not overly worried about the colour as I can touch up if needed.

My hallway is long and narrow and is currently painted white. I've painted the front door a light green but am now considering what colour to paint the hallway. My idea is to go half and half - leave the top half white, but measure midpoint and paint the bottom half in colour. The age of your house and your hallway's fixtures and fittings can influence a colour choice. My house was built in 1970 so thinking around the colours of mid green or ochre.

We aren’t just planning ours. I’m thinking of something like pale yellow paint with white woodwork.

We ‘are’ planning ours!

We went for a light pastel green, we have oak and white bannisters and it’s brightened the whole place up.
