Chain of 3

We are ftb chain free, in a chain of 3, we have a mortgage in place, searches complete etc, all paperwork received signed and posted contracts last week which solicitor has received, I contacted sales progression team at EA this morning for update who said people at top of chain has enquiries, we got offer accepted 19th july things so far have moved quick solicitor said 8- 12 wks as a guide for process to be complete I am now freaking out this is going to fall down, I am not very optimistic person, due a baby 10th Nov really hoped to be in by September, has anyone been in a chain like this and it worked ok? When do i next chase EA for update if I dont hear or do i chase solicitor

I would say it sounds good with where it is! Enquiries are usually a few questions. E.g. our old house we had when was the chimney last swept. They could also be to do with something which come up on the searches like has it ever flooded if it's a flood risk. Usually once they are dealt with you can set a date. If it makes you feel better a family member accepted an offer in April and the buyers are only getting their searches back this week! Survey took ages to sort!

As someone said. Enquired can take time. Sometimes things pop up that need sorted and no one knows how long that can take. It’s kind of the same answer to how long is a piece of string. Hang in there. It’s agonising waiting. But worth it in the end.

Our chain of 3, no issues took 14 weeks.
