Oil heating & hot water timings…how long??

Anyone who uses oil able to advise please as to how long we should heat our water for in the morning? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Usually 2 showers every morning at the most. Maybe two showers every evening.3 bowls of washing-up throughout the day, that’s it I think.

Thanks!

Trial and error. Try an hour in the morning and an hour in the early evening and see how it goes. If you find the hot water runs out or there’s more than enough, you can tweak it either way.

A hour in the morning does it for me.

@watcherintherye has it: we do an hour in the morning and the same early evening and find that’s plenty for showers, washing machine & dishwasher.

We have an hour in the morning. But it stops once water is up to temp anyway. We just got a new water tank which is more efficient so I'm crossing fingers for savings!

I've had oil central heating for years. Use it exactly the same way as gas central heating with a hot water tank.
We have electric showers but also one that runs off the hot water as we often have a surplus if the fire is lit.
For two of us an hour in morning is enough, probably two in the evening. If DC are visiting then much more.

2.5hrs in the morning, 2 hrs evening 👍
