Energy in new house feels odd

Really early days I know, but if anyone has any advice or been in a similar situation please can you help.
We moved house a few weeks ago it's been our dream to live in this location however the house has been severely neglected and is quite run down. But what's odd is the feeling I'm getting
In the house, almost as if I can feel the previous owners energy. It's not a scary feeling, more of an unhappiness feeling and sadness. I can't put my finger on it, it's just a lingering funky energy.
Has anyone else had this?

No, but get someone in to sort it. Priest, witch, whatever is your sort of thing.

I’ve had a similar experience. I did the salt in all four corners thing. I think the ritual of it as much as anything did work. www.mashed.com/161564/why-you-should-be-putting-salt-in-the-corners-of-your-house/

Thank you, the salt idea I was thinking about.
We have 2 cats and a 15m DD, so maybe some rooms I could close for a few hours. I've tried sage and currently using essential oils in a diffuser. Just can't put my finger on it, it doesn't feel haunted. It's not that type of feeling.

Maybe if someone who couldn't keep up to the house and is sad it's neglected maybe when they see you making it a happy home they'll pass on.

I live in a house where the previous owner was super house proud before she died, they had tenants moved in who trashed the place. For the first year we lived here I could sometimes feel a presence, little things would happen like the clock changing on the oven as I'd said I didn't know how to do it etc. We cared for the house and after about a year I didn't feel a presence anymore, I think she just wanted to see someone care for her home

I could sense our previous owner too. Nothing malicious. I spoke out loud, thanking them for letting me live there, praising certain things, ie "what a lovely lilac by this front door, it smells wonderful, thank you for planting it". It lessened over the year. Its almost as if they lived the house and are making sure others treat it nice. Its not just me who felt it but I'm the only one doing the thanking 😆

I did the exact same thing! It was honestly a comforting presence, I felt like I'd gained her approval when I didn't feel them anymore!

We found our recently that the previous owners have separated and so the woman was left in the house raising 2 x children. I can't deceive if it's her energy or owners before that.

You cam ask your local vicar to come and bless the house. Every diocese has someone in charge of spiritual stuff (previously known as exorcists but that term is no longer used!). I can't remember what they're called now but I'm good friends with a vicar and they get called on quite a lot to do things like this. I've heard some stories...!

Tibetan Tingsha Cymbals Bell are what you need.
Walk round your house dinging them and find the saddest part. Ask the sadness to go. Or throw out whatever is there causing the misery.

RedToothBrush · 25/08/2022 23:06

You've bought a house.

You havent made it your home yet. It's still feeling like it's got someone else's finger prints all over it.

Put yours on it somehow.

RidingMyBike · 26/08/2022 10:51

You can ask local vicar for a priest to come and do a house blessing. There's at least one person in each diocese who does these so they should be able to put you in touch with the right person. They were previously known as the diocesan exorcist but the title has been updated more recently. Smile

I can explain this, you are projecting your internal emotional state onto your physical surroundings, which are entirely inanimate

Snowpaw · 26/08/2022 13:05

Moving house is one of life's biggest adjustments for people to make; its normal to feel churned up and sad - a feeling of almost homelessness in that your old home has gone but this new place doesn't feel like home yet. Especially given that it is run down. It will pass as you make the place your own and it begins to feel like home to you. I'm not a great believer in the supernatural!

We bought a probate house which had been somewhat neglected (understatement). Our local vicar came round and did a lovely house blessing (a prayer in every room) and we included prayers for the previous owners. I don't know that it changed the energy in the house, but it felt like a good full stop to their ownership and a beginning to ours.

I have moved in the last year. The last house I was in for over 8 years. As soon as I moved in I started seeing things out of the corner of my eye. After a while I just put it down getting older and my eyes.
We have since moved. And the corner of my eye thing has gone. Make of that what u will as I have no idea.
