Neff 5 ring induction hob are you happy?

We are about to get this Neff 5 ring induction hob - T48FD23X2 www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/t48fd23x2/neff-t48fd23x2-4-induction-hob-hob. But I am worried it won't be as good as my Hotpoint one... On my 4 ring Hotpoint induction hob, the buttons are quick to respond. You can hold your finger on the button and the numbers go up or down quite quickly. And when you have all 4 rings on high power mode, it does the job with no noise or fuss. But when I had a go on my friend's Neff induction hob (admittedly a 4 ring not the same model as the one we have on order) the buttons seemed very slow to respond - cycles through the numbers slowly, and when more than 2 rings are on, it makes a loud clicking on and off noise, and loud humming. Is this normal Neff induction stuff? should I be worried? any help welcome, thanks so much.

I have a Neff induction hob. It's not the same as the one in the link but I am more than happy with it. I've had it for 5 years now and haven't encountered any of the problems you've listed.

thank you, I think it could be theirs doesn't have enough power to have all 4 rings on at once so it shares the power between the rings, which makes the clicking noises from ring to ring.

I have an IKEA induction hob and it’s brilliant!

I was going to get Neff but went to stay at my fathers holiday home for a staycation and he has AEG appliances there, induction Hob ect and I must say they were fantastic, I loved the induction Hob it was so fast , I also loved the other appliances incase your interested, I'm also going to buy the rest of the appliances from AEG as well, I was using the dishwasher on the quick 30 minute wash and the dishes came out spotless.
The fridge freezer was a lovely size and the washing machine was quick, quiet and good stain removal. X

I have that one it's pretty good. Very fast heating so a bit of a learning curve to get used to it but it's simple to use and responsive

I have a 4 ring Neff induction hob. It definitely has enough power going to it as the kitchen is new with new wiring. When you turn on, say, a third ring it does reduce power momentarily to the existing ones. I think it’s just balancing or something, it only lasts a couple of seconds.

I also have a four ring induction hob, Neff. I have none of the issues mentioned. I had one at my previous house and loved it and bought another when I moved. I'm moving again and will buy another Neff. I don't find the numbers slow.

Had new new Neff four ring fitted last year, super fast on rapid boil.

We’ve got a flexi zone neff. It’s great.

I love ours! Didn't know I needed the rapid boil function in my life - game changer.

frizbee · 01/09/2022 09:35

ok thanks everyone, I think I can stop panicking about it being rubbish, I will have some faith that the Neff hob will be ok and go on to worry about everything else in our kitchen refurb instead! x

Is it possible that your friend’s hob has been fitted with a 13a plug? This might account for the seeming lack of oomph.

she says it has been hard-wired, but could be that it doesn't have its own mains ring... I will investigate further.

The Neff man came to investigate and said although it is hardwired, their type of hob behaves like a 13amp plug in hob, so you're right @FrogFairy , it isn't able to draw enough power and is sharing it between the rings when more than 2 are on full. Mystery solved! I guess she will have to get a new one that can handle more power? And I will stick with my order of a Neff hob and believe it will all be ok.

I have just had THIS fitted and I absolutely love it. Its super quick on the rapid power boost. I had never had NEFF products before but now have the hob, 2 ovens, freezer and dishwasher. I would highly reccommend :)
