Buyers pulled out some positive stories please?

We sold our house beginning of March to cash buyers. All was progressing and we were getting ready for exchange when our buyers decided to pull out… no reason given just “personal circumstances” 5 months down the line. We were supposed to be completing end of august in time for DS school start in sept. (Moving to a new area) Fortunately our onward purchase has agreed to wait for us to find new buyers. The pressure has already started from their estate agent.

It’s only been one week. we’ve put the house back on the market, but it is Summer holidays. Two offers but not for as much as what we sold for before. More Viewings planned for this weekend. Has anyone got any positive stories for me? And How quickly could we get this wrapped up if we close the chain again quickly?

My parents lost their buyer in exchange day. All of a sudden he couldn’t find the cash.
they sold within a week of going back on the market for more, moved within 6. I was surprised as it was a niche property (large bungalow in woodland with an acre garden) and had taken ages to sell first time around.

Friends had two buyers pull out and then along came a buyer who had grown up in the road and offered them £10000 over the asking price if they moved out in four weeks. Good luck.

It happened to us on two previous properties, and in both instances the new buyer offered more. We were about four months (of faffing) down the line in one of the sales.

I think you could get it all wrapped up quite quickly if you get the right buyer (first time/ cash etc).

Can you commute to the new area for your child’s school in the meantime? Or is it too far?

The commute to new school would be over an hour each way 😕
