Experiences of Open Rent

hi all I am a private landlord and I need to find new tenants for my property. It’s been quite a long time since I had to find tenants. I am very wary of advertising on Facebook. I see that open rent provide a service to landlords to advertise the properties on right move and to reference check the tenants. Can any landlords give some feedback both good and bad experiences. Or any other sites you would recommend. Thanks!

Hi! Private landlord here, I absolutely recommend Open Rent, really easy to use, potential tenants can book viewings directly with you, you can add your own listing and photos. I have used it for the last 8 years for the 3 properties I rent. Really is super easy. If you message me your email address I can send you a referral link where you will get a free trial and I will get credit for my next advert. Thanks

I've used OpenRent for years, it's brilliant. I advertise via OpenRent and then do the checks, referencing and vetting via The National Landlord Association. Deposits then held with DPS.

I’m using them as a tenant right now. I was wary at first but it has been great - all the docs and messages in one place and proof of deposit paid. I would happily recommend them as a tenant.

As a tenant - been very easy. My only query would be whether you need estate agents to find you tenants. But if advertised on Rightmove - should be ok

DS has rented through Openrent. Far, far better than an EA who knows nothing about the property and cares even less.

Openrent is excellent.

I'm a tenant and I found my house through openrent. Absolute godsend as someone desperate to rent but with 2 dogs - even exceptionally well behaved and highly trained ones! It was incredibly easy.

I'm a landlord of 4 properties, and all my tenants have come to me from open rent, would never use an estate agent/office agent. They do all the faffing about for me, then I double check and so far, everyone has worked out for us.
I would highly recommend them from a LL's point of view

Openrent have sent me an email saying the gas safety certificate is due soon and they're going to arrange an engineer and he'll be in touch. I've not had to lift a finger. So refreshing in this age of terrible customer service. Their prices are so good as well.

Just as a very funny applicant that I got this morning via Openrent.
This chap earns 10 million a year, and can apparently prove it, dare I ask him why he wants to rent my tiny little 2 bed house?????

meeting up with him just for the fun of it.

Hels20 · 04/08/2022 13:20

@esgee - maybe not for him? Could be for a mistress or maybe he is deciding to do it for a Ukrainian family? Although why he would be the point of contact - who knows!! Please come back and update us!
