Toilet seat won’t move

Could anyone help me in getting this toilet seat off, please.

Ive looked on YouTube but they all imply things should just unscrew or pop off.

The right side suddenly came undone but I’m not sure that hasn’t snapped. The left side won’t move.

There doesn’t seem to be any buttons to release the mechanism & the screws underneath go into a fixed nut so can’t do it from there either.

I’ve tried WD40 & brute strength (not that I have a lot of that!)

It’s now more broken than it was before I started.

That happened with ours - a friend havksawed it off!
New one was easy to fit though

I think I might have to do the same thing.
I’ve managed to remove the circular cover on the right too, but the left one don’t move S it’s nowhere to go.

Sussed it!

ended up having to twist & prized it off, but it’s done now.
