How long - valuation to mortgage offer?

Just wondering how long mortgage offers seem to be taking at the moment? Our valuation was about ten days ago and came back fine but no sign of an offer yet. The broker has chased a couple of times but says he's been told they're swamped. I'm impatient Grin

Mine was the same day!

How long is a piece of string. Honestly it can depend on so many factors. Waiting is hard. I’m sorry.

Ours was a day.

Fancypants2022 · 18/06/2022 08:01

Same day here too

Ours tooks 3 weeks from our broker putting the application in to getting the offer yesterday. Ours was a desktop valuation and actually looks like it was done 3 days after the application went in, but we didn't find out that it had come back ok until just before we got the offer.

Mine was same day but it took about a month to get the valuation.

Previous mortgage offer (we pulled out) was a couple of days and a quicker valuation.

We had 2 failed purchases before the 3rd successful one in the past 10 months, which means 3 mortgage applications with Halifax. First offer came the day after valuation, the second offer took a week after valuation, and the third offer came 12 days after valuation. Broker kept telling us valuation came back as expected this time, but even though they kept chasing, it was waiting to be looked at by the undertaker for what felt like forever. I can fully empathize... If the broker says the valuation was fine then the offer will come! The wait is horrible though

Thanks for the replies. Argh it's just so painful, I know it's not actually holding anything up as both sides solicitors are beavering away in the meantime but I just want it sorted so I know for sure I don't have to worry about it! @thewaitislong we're the same, just waiting for underwriting. Hopefully not too much longer.

Paddingtonthebear · 19/06/2022 18:50

bog standard application too

pfills · 19/06/2022 18:54

ours took 4 wks although valuation came first. Apparently it's swamped.

evilharpy · 19/06/2022 19:35

Oh good lord. If I have to wait that long I will lose my mind.

Actually it is over 4 weeks since application. Two weeks tomorrow since valuation.
