I have found my dream home

Some things I would change, and that is part of my dream!

But the gardens, the pond, the space, the fireplaces, the windy little staircase...

Think of the heating bills! (And the dusting.)

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 06/06/2022 23:38

Indeed! What's not to like there!

Thinking of the heating just makes me think how gorgeous it would be in winter and at Christmas time!

Ha, I got half-way through the pics and thought "this is an old minister's house".

JerichoGirl · 07/06/2022 00:00

It looks magical from the outside and the gardens are lovely.

The inside does nothing for me, acres to maintain and clean plus it’s a bit drab.

NRRK28 · 07/06/2022 00:07

My god what a beautiful house. I’m so shock how affordable it is compare to london price. London price is crazy. Gotta be millions if its in london. Sadly 😭

It's super reasonably priced compared to Yorkshire too!

washingwakeup · 07/06/2022 09:59

I would probably be happy living in a shed in that garden, to be fair Grin

And yes, prices down south are mind boggling in comparison.

It has loads of potential but it has such disappointing decor and terrible pictures. I think it probably looked better before someone tarted it up with very basic finishes.

Cinnabomb · 07/06/2022 10:11

Completely agree @TheYearOfSmallThings . I would have loved it probably before the renovations, they’ve done a terrible job. Gardens are lovely.

washingwakeup · 07/06/2022 10:12

You can see some of what it looked liked when it last sold in 2011 if you look at the previous sale for it.

Mostly not my taste either, but yes, such potential. And I'm usually not very good at visualising if it's not already there in front of me.

It has the smallest hob in the most ridiculous place in a big kitchen

It is a lovely house but somehow doesn't quite do it for me

That is actually bizarre. I didn't notice that.

That's not a hob, it's a chopping board ;-)I know the current owners a little (been at a party there recently & yes it's a bloody fabulous house. Decor not my taste but fabulous

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/06/2022 10:22

I looked at the 2011 pictures and in fairness to the current owners, the place had already been decorated a bit unfortunately by then. The grounds are a credit to both sets of owners though.

Bluevelvetsofa · 07/06/2022 10:23

It looks very dark, not helped by the decor.

I thought that! But it says in the description it has an induction hob.

One bathroom and a shower room?

washingwakeup · 07/06/2022 10:26

And another separate toilet. But sadly no en-suites.

@handbagsandholidays I agree completely. A house near us has gone up at £1.2m. It's not even a nice or desirable part of Yorkshire.

HolidayHelp23 · 07/06/2022 11:54

Remember it's offers over so will likely go for significantly more than the 995

Cattenberg · 07/06/2022 12:05

I really like it. The house has large rooms and lovely period features. It’s also well-presented and it would be easy to put your own stamp on it if you wanted. The gardens are stunning - absolutely beautiful.

movemyshed · 07/06/2022 12:21

It's got a range cooker as well as the small induction hob.

The grounds look beautiful.
