Blinds ideas for bi-folds?

Hi. Just had anthracite bi-folds fitted in a garden room and discovered that as the room faces South it gets ridiculously hot late afternoon onwards. We’re thinking about putting pleated blinds in to protect furniture and keep the heat out when not in use..Cant decide whether to go for blackouts to keep it cool and furniture / artwork protected, or just to get something to diffuse the light. Any thoughts?
Also realised that normally you would see the rather ordinary ‘back’ of the blinds from the outside whereas I’d rather have the colour/pattern showing from the outside as that’s what we’ll see from the house …but not sure if that’s possible? The alternative would probably be venetian blinds set in to the recess of the actual windows...

I'd have thought blackout blinds will just make the room dark - so it might be cool but you're unlikely to use it as you'll have to put the lights on / sit in semi-darkness?

Would a shade/sail/awning outside the window work in summer?

Would perfect fit ones work, you can get samples of ebay to try

I don't imagine using the room really if the doors need to be closed, it's more of a 'fling the doors open when the weathers good' inside/outside sort of room rather than to be used much if weather isn’t great.
I'm going to look at alternatives though, hadnt thought about a sail, will also look into the perfect fit blinds .

Appreciate your comments🙂

Thomas Sanderson’s do some good blinds for bifold doors. They do light shading ones too.

fitted perfect fit blinds in our conservatory. They work very well. If your garden room can s off another room you won't want it to be blacked out!

We have these natty pleated blinds that fold up entirely into the window frame. They slide in under the rubber so you can self install.

OP have you considered getting your windows tinted, aside from the cost savings, the finish and maintenance address far more low key. It looks slick, TBF I've seen them on sliders frequently.

Address? *Are more low key

We just bought a house which has a south facng garden and bi folds leading into the garden from the kitchen. The previous owner has left roller blinds which are fitted into the recess bit of the wall (if that makes sense) of the bifolds which is are sun and insect screen. I would recomend those.

sorry meant to also say that they aren't blackout so dont make the kitchen dark either
