Steel framed houses - noisy? Help!

We are in the process of buying a new house built using modern methods of construction, so is steel-framed and modular. Its semi-detached, halls adjoining, but the kitchens are at the front so the living spaces will adjoin at the back.

We are currently in a 'normal' 1960s semi, and its really noisy! We can hear our neighbours talking and their tv through the wall, and presumably they can hear us. I lived in a detached house for 20 years before we moved here, I forgot about neighbour noise!

Does anyone have any experience of MMC houses? Are they noisy? Are they draughty (I'm hoping not)? I've just read a thread where it was pointed out that sound travels through joists rather than walls - will the sound travel more through steel than through wood?

@PonyPatter44 - I was just wondering whether you had moved in yet, and how you were getting on with your steel framed house? We're currently waiting for planning permission for an extension/annexe and are hoping to get a metal-framed prefab type build. I can't find anyone who's lived in one so was just hoping for a bit more info about how you're finding it? Thank you.
