Staying in a BTL property for a few nights while decorating?

Hello,

I recently bought a BTL property, with a BTL mortgage.

It's about 40 miles from my current home. Once I get the keys, I'll spend a few weeks decorating/ fixing it before it rents out. I will mostly do this on the weekends.

Is it okay for me to stay in the property overnight on these weekends? I know that I can't live in the property, but can I just stay there once or twice?

Yes it’s absolutely fine.

Of course it is fine- you presumably have your own home and these stays are temporary for convenience whilst decorating etc- so at no point does the BTL become your 'main residence' - don't give it another thought and crack on
