Brick slip wall, bathroom tile dilemma

We have gutted our bathroom and I'm now struggling to decide how to decorate it, the only thing we have bought so far is a lovely old victorian chest of drawers which we are putting a sink onto. We both like the look of a brick wall (using brick slips) and then maybe white tiles around the bath. I would have liked a different colour for inside the shower as it is in a bit of an alcove so I thought it could have a separate style, but we would then have three different tiles - so is that too much? We're looking at a fairly dark wood Karnean floor. Any thoughts much appreciated because I am not enjoying trying to design this bathroom at all :-( Worried I'm going to make an expensive mistake and tiling is something that I would really like to get right, does it need something to pull it all together?

Could you put the brick slips around the shower too - so no other tiles? Would look more cohesive?
Can brick slips be used in a shower?
P.S. you have great taste!

I think brick slips are really hard to keep clean and they get dusty. I'd miss those out.

I wondered this too as they’re so textured - would be difficult to get mould and mildew off probably.
what about those 3D effect wall panels that simulate brick instead? Easier to keep clean maybe?

How about white tiles everywhere except for the shower area where you use exactly the same tiles but in a strong and different colour, such as teal/green/yellow or a artistic/random mixture of all three! Possibly put a few more of the strong colour elsewhere such as on the window sill or around the mirror?
