Just put house on the market

Just put my house on the market this Monday. Had four viewings booked this week. One has cancelled. The first one's feedback was that the ceilings were too low. It's a cottage. I'm worried it won't sell. You hear of multiple viewings etc. is it a bit slow because of Easter I wonder ?

Any advice thank you

You are panicking too early - wait a while. If its a family home it might not be as busy during the easter holidays if people have gone away.

Anything can happen, please don’t worry yet. What did the others say or haven’t they been yet?

One of ours said there weren’t enough eye level cabinets, proceeded to put an offer in, then pulled out 2 days before exchange because of things she saw when viewing!! Absolute plonker.

Mine sold in December in a day. Fell through. Much slower the second time, 5 weeks with trickles of viewings, lots of unhelpful feedback like not enough natural light (can’t change it) and was feeling despondent. It has sold again now though, same amount, yours will sell too-just give it time.

Thank you for all your replies. I guess adding to the stress is the fact I'm a single mum and my 19 year old daughter is recovering from some mental health issues and her anxiety is sky high. I'll be patient Smile

Op where we live right now the tides seem to be changing . All that was on the market is being reduced and we had 3 come on the market yesterday at a much more reasonable price .. we are about to buy but it's turbulent, hopefully in our favour . Theirs been a definite shift in the last 3 weeks so just watch the market .

Hello,

Apologies if this does not answer your question but can I ask you where is located your house? I am looking to buy in Crouch End/Highgate and surrounding.

Thank you!

You do need to be patient I’m afraid. Our flat took several months to sell and over 30 viewings but we got there in the end and you will too!

Thank you.
My house is in the South West of U.K. between Bristol and Bath.

I am looking in that area . I think it has slowed a bit but hold your nerve, it will go. Ours didn’t do much for 6 weeks then 3 offers all at same time .

I also went live this week in South West - sensible price not OTT. 3 viewings booked but all for next weekend when people return from their holidays. I do think Easter has probably slowed things down a little, try not to fret Smile

Ours went on market Wednesday too - 5 viewings and was really hoping for a bidding war lol (joke) 2 interested , others said so many positives just not for them.
I just hate keeping the house clean constantly lol!

EA either tend to be rubbish about asking for feedback or quite insistent, which then means people end up making comments like that about the ceilings! Bear in mind that some just won't have fallen for the house but try to articulate that into something physical - we had several say the downstairs was too small. You could see the size from the floorplan!

Depending on what the photos are like it can also be misleading - do the ceilings appear higher in the photos?
