Are bifold doors worth it?

We’re getting an extension with dining/family room being added on to our current kitchen and looking out at the garden.

I know bifold doors are very ‘in’ but are they worth it? Would large French doors and floor length windows do the trick? I want lots of kigjt and to be able to look out when I sit down. Plus still see lots from the kitchen.

What about rodents and foxes?

My parents’ bifolds are glorious: they really make the house, and the garden. But they do have a truly beautiful garden that makes it all worth it. They have two sets – one huge and one smaller – due to the shape of the extension, and each one has a door within it that you can open separately for access/air/cats/children. Plus a door at the side with a cat flap in.

Never had a bird, bat or any other visitor inside – they had more creatures (frogs, a shrew once, birds) when the back of the house was an ancient and damp conservatory.

Nope - no wildlife of any sort other than occasional insect but no more than with open windows or French windows etc.

Bi folds are amazing - cat goes out a different door

We also have that you can open individually and the others slide together - much better than french windows
